If you’ve read my blog, you know that applesauce is an important part of many of my dairy-free recipes. I rely on it for baked goods, pancakes, and as a delicious snack. Making homemade applesauce has become a lot easier for me since I got a stand mixer attachment that can peel, core, and slice […]
I posted recently about the mini cherry pies that are a total hit at our parties. I had to follow that up with the punch that’s always a huge hit. I don’t have any clever names for it, so let’s just call it Cranberry Party Punch.
We have been blessed two years in a row with a very abundant garden. With all the veggies we get from it, it’s hard to use them all, even when we give some away to friends.
The strawberry posts continue! We had a lot of strawberries to work with this year, and I was happy to try a few new recipes in the process. We made strawberry sorbet and strawberry banana popsicles with the strawberries we didn’t use for canning (or just plain good eating.

Hello, and welcome back to Dairy-Free State after a long hiatus! My first year of graduate school is under my belt (summer projects not included) and I’m happy to be back with more recipes and more projects. My hope is never to go this long again without posting, and I’m overflowing with ideas for new […]
This summer, we were lucky enough to pick up some delicious deliveries from Tree-Ripe. We bought peaches at the beginning of the summer (and made awesome recipes like Peach Pancakes and Sangria) and blueberries near the end of the summer. I took a ton of blueberries and froze them to use during the cold months.
For the past couple months, we’ve been getting deliveries from Brewers Organics, an amazing local service in Milwaukee that delivers fresh organic produce and other goods to your door as frequently as once per week. I’ll probably write a whole post about them later, but for now, I wanted to talk about this week. We […]
