This podcast, like many coming up, have been a long time coming. I recorded a slew of them at the end of May, and finally have time to start publishing them with some regularity.
My guest for this episode, Vanessa Opal June, was such a delight to talk to. We could have probably talked for hours. She’s a therapeutic chef, she’s pursuing her Master’s in Art Therapy, she does intuitive art and yogic meditation…I love a woman who does it all! I learned so much from her in the brief conversation we had, truly.
Vanessa said some things to me during our time together that have been rolling around in my head ever since, especially on the topic of self-care. She is studying for a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy, and engages in all kinds of forms of creative self-care with her clients – painting with one, crochet with another – it all depends on the individual and what feels like care to them. (By the way, if you want to learn more about what creative method best suits you for self-care, take the quiz on her homepage.)
During the podcast, we talked about our similar food upbringings, where we’ve been finding food during the pandemic, her work as a therapeutic chef, and her yogic meditation and intuitive art services.
And yes, I mention my damn starter AGAIN in this episode. (See a recent recipe I made with some of the sourdough waste here).
