One of the reasons I started Dairy-Free State is because I didn’t want people to waste their money on products that didn’t taste good, like I had to for years. I also realized I didn’t have any positive reviews for yogurt brands I liked. So, here you go: My review for Kite Hill Almond Milk Yogurt.
When it comes to dairy-free yogurt, I’m a stickler for texture and taste. I used to eat yogurt every day back when dairy wasn’t a problem for me. My breakfast, or lunch, was usually yogurt with granola and fresh fruit. Needless to say, I want a dairy-free yogurt that’s as close to the real thing as I can get, or better.
I noticed Kite Hill Almond Milk Yogurt recently at Whole Foods and decided to give it a whirl. I bought the peach and blueberry varieties. I tried the blueberry first, and was very impressed. The texture is smooth and creamy, the blueberry flavor is fresh and not too sweet, and the almond milk gives the yogurt more dimension than some soy yogurts I regularly buy.

I tried the peach a few days later. I loved the taste (I would say peach is probably my favorite flavor of any yogurt), but the yogurt was much runnier than the blueberry version. If you are more of a fan of Greek-style yogurt, this won’t be the brand for you anyway (try So Delicious Greek-Style yogurts – amazing!). I need some kind of thickness to my yogurt, and the peach just wasn’t bringing it. Maybe Kite Hill is still working out the kinks with their texture between flavors. I’d be willing to try it in the future to see if anything changed.
Have you tried Kite Hill Almond Milk Yogurt yet? What are your favorite flavors? What about other favorite brands?
