She knew I was writing the blog and figured I could use some soup to try and review. I have to say, I welcome any gifts of food over some generic basket of bath products any day. I’m very happy to finally have a chance to taste and review one of them.
I’ve had Imagine’s Tomato soup before, seeing as how it’s one of the only creamy tomato soups you can get that is dairy-free, but I’ve never tried their other kinds before. Being a sucker for a good grilled cheese sandwich, I figured this soup would work just as well as an accompaniment. It’s also pretty hard to find a dairy-free butternut squash soup. They’re mostly just bisques. This soup was creamy with just the right amount of sweetness, it was perfectly pureed, and no dairy was involved! I think next time I have some I’d throw a little spice on it just to give it a kick, but it tasted great when I got to dip my sandwich in it, too.
If you like soups like carrot ginger or anything with sweet potato or pumpkin, you’d like this butternut squash flavor for sure. I’m a big fan of any kind of lentil soup or any soup that has a bit of a sweet element to it. Try it on your next rainy day.
