If you like organic food and have jumped on the subscription box bandwagon, add Brewers Organics to your rotation.
Brewers Organics is a local Milwaukee business dedicated to delivering organic food year round to lots of different Milwaukee neighborhoods. You can choose the size of your delivery (regular boxes start at $35), whether you want all fruits, all vegetables, or a mix of both, and you can make unlimited substitutions to what you get in your box each week. You can also add on a lot of local products like popcorn, salad dressings, microgreens, and more!
I found out about Brewers Organics at a local Milwaukee event this summer, and it was on my mind from then until we ordered our first box. We’ve been ordering Brewers Organics boxes for a few months now, and it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Now, Brewers Organics was cool enough to give me a free box and a discount code for mentioning them here (use DFSTATE at checkout for half off your first box) but I would be singing their praises either way.
I just wanted to take you through what I got in a typical Brewers box and what can be made out of one box so you can picture ordering it yourself:
- 3 gala apples
- 3 bananas
- 1 yellow onion
- 1 half pint blackberries
- 4 minneolas
- 2 navel oranges
- 1 lb. russet potatoes
- 2 roma tomatoes
- 1 lb carrots
- 1 leek
- 3 romaine hearts
- 1 eggplant
(I also received a bonus of 1 avocado and 2 more bananas because I received radishes instead of carrots on the last box. They’re pretty amazing when it comes to customer service, too!)

Recipes
- Carrot Leek Soup (carrots, leek)
- Veggie Packets (potato, carrots, onion)
- Simple Green Smoothies (romaine hearts, all the fruits!)
- Homemade Pizza (great use for roma tomatoes)
- Banana Bread Pancakes (bananas)
- Steel-cut oats (apples)
I also used the eggplant to make a vegan eggplant parmesan, which I hope I get around to posting about later.
