I’m a big fan of Amy’s Roasted Veggie pizza, so I’m glad I broke from an old favorite recently to give this one a try.
This pizza is so amazing and tastes way too good to be frozen. First off, the crust is nice and pillowy, kind of a “virgin crust” texture that I love. I definitely fall somewhere in between a deep dish and thin crust pizza lover. It has about the same consistency as the roasted veggie pizza has, although it tasted like there was more olive oil brushed on the crust, whereas the roasted veggie pizza has a sweet taste to it from the agave and balsamic vinegar.
The cheese was delicious and melted perfectly, but that’s not a surprise since it’s Daiya cheese. I was a little worried the tomatoes would be too acidic, but they ended up tasting perfect. Really, there isn’t anything bad I can say about this pizza. It was solid from start to finish and is something I think even meat-eating, cheese-loving people would dig. With some dairy-free pizzas I feel like I’m missing something, maybe just an extra kick of flavor, but the seasoning on this margherita pizza was perfection.
If you haven’t tried this or the roasted veggie pizza yet, try one right away. They’ll make you a hardcore believer that frozen dairy-free pizza can actually taste good.
