I enjoy taking time out of my day to stop at a nearby coffee shop, pick up freshly baked sourdough at a small bakery, or get a refreshing ice cream cone on a hot summer day.
MN Nice Cream – The perfect dairy-free option near me
One of the first places I checked out was a business I found when searching for something like “vegan ice cream near me” – MN Nice Cream.
MN Nice Cream (also known as Minnesota Nice Cream) is a soft serve shop with 2 locations – one in Stillwater, MN and another in Minneapolis. The shop offers a rotation of flavors, all of which are lactose-free and gluten-free. One or two flavors available are always vegan as well, made with oat milk. Some of my favorites I’ve tried so far include pineapple and watermelon sugar, but I can’t wait to get in there and try the blue moon flavor.
And wait until you see the toppings!
The toppings at MN Nice Cream are truly next-level. I’ve gone relatively tame with my toppings, choosing fruity pebbles and strawberry syrup for the pineapple, and vegan cookie dough to put on top of my cake batter cone (which I didn’t expect to be a full scoop of cookie dough instead of just a sprinkling of pieces – that was pretty intense). You can go even further and get some of the pre-ordained topping arrangements. The “Cookie Monster” is cookie dough, Oreo, caramel sauce, and sprinkles. The “Camper” is peanut butter cups, pretzels, graham crackers, toasted marshmallows, peanut butter sauce, and sprinkles. You see what I mean by next level.
Plus, most at MN Nice Cream are also dairy-free or vegan!
While not all of the options at MN Nice Cream are dairy-free or vegan, there are a ton of vegan options. You’ll always wind up being able to get something fun. Even if there isn’t a topping that strikes your fancy, I would advise that you say “yes” to glitter. That’s right, you can get edible glitter on top of anything you order for no charge. Who, in their right mind, says “no” to edible glitter? I don’t think I want to meet that person.
If you happen to be visiting the Twin Cities or you live nearby, I would suggest checking this out. One note – The Stillwater location does close for the winter, but they appear to be opening back up in March this year. They update their website and social media channels faithfully, so you should always know what’s going on before you go there and end up disappointed.
