In Defense of Food – “Good Reads” Virtual Book Club

I only include links for products and services I love and believe in. Please check out my disclosure policy for more details!I was always a hardcore reader, the kind that would carry stacks of books out of the library as a kid. I wanted to add a section for books on this blog, because I think reading is an important way we can inexpensively expand our horizons and learn more about the world around us. Also, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to read more books.
What I’m hoping “Good Reads” can be is a kind of virtual book club. I’ll announce what book I’ll be reading, and about what pace I’ll be going, and then post takeaways and discussion questions along the way.
If you want to follow along, pick up a copy of Michael Pollan’s In Defense of Food. The book is about rethinking the way we eat and dissects the Western Diet. I’ll be recapping chapters 1-5 and posting some questions on January 7th.
Have any books you want me to add to the list? Send me an email at dairyfreestate@gmail.com.
(P.S., I’ll be reading French Kids Eat Everything next, so if you want to get a jump start on ordering a book to read with me, group that in your Amazon order).
