Finally, a new installment of Good Reads, and a new book to talk about. While I loved reading In Defense of Food, I was definitely ready for something less information-dense. What I was craving next was a singular story.
Enter The Middlesteins. It’s a novel, but also offers true-to-life commentary on the state of the modern Western diet.
In this book, food is used as love. But what happens when food is slowly killing Edie, the main character, who received so much love and food from her parents at an early age, and continued to love herself to the point that she weighed over 300 pounds in adulthood? It’s something I’m very excited to explore.
I’ve started reading the first couple chapters, but I’m looking for Dairy-Free State followers to read along with me. So, if you’re planning on reading this book, comment on here, reach out on Facebook, email me. Let’s get a conversation going.
