Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 cups cocoa powder
  • 3 1/2 cups vegan sugar (we used cane sugar)
  • Seeds from 2 vanilla beans
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • Vegan mini-marshmallows

Instructions

All you need to do with this recipe is mix everything together except for the mini marshmallows. We used a combination of 16 oz and 8 oz jars. The most important thing to remember is to fill up the jars in 2 tbsp increments. The instructions for gift recipients add 2 tablespoons of hot chocolate mix for every cup of milk (almond, coconut, whatever), mix, and heat over the stove. Top with the marshmallows!

Notes

When we made the hot chocolate, we added tags with directions, plus small liquor bottles so people could spike it if they wanted to. My personal favorite was Dr. McGillicuddy’s. The mint mixed with chocolate made me feel like I was drinking a boozy candy cane.
