Fody Sesame Ginger Marinade: Can a low-FODMAP marinade be as good as the original?
If you’ve been following along, you know that I have a few posts on the horizon about my new SIBO diagnosis and my journey into SIBO-friendly diets, including going low-FODMAP, which I’m currently doing.
Eating with any special diet to take care of SIBO is not easy. One of the hardest things about going low-FODMAP is that you can’t have onion or garlic, two of my favorite things. Some consolation prizes: green onion is OK, and so are garlic- and onion-infused oils. Still, life isn’t the same without being able to pick up whatever you want at a grocery store and use it on your salad or to marinate your dinner.
So, I wanted to take some time to review the low-FODMAP products that have made my life easier. First up, Fody Sesame Ginger Marinade.

Answer: Yes.
What I like about all the Fody products I’ve tried is that I don’t really notice a difference between them and any other high-FODMAP products I would have picked up before going on this diet. I don’t notice a lack of oniony or garlicky goodness, and that’s really the best thing I can say about this sesame ginger marinade. It’s just the right level of sweetness and zip, and it was perfect on pan-fried tofu. I would recommend marinating tofu or chicken with it and tossing it in a stir fry or throwing it in a salad. Not much else to say about this one but “buy it!” If you want to try a variety of Fody products at once, get one of their bundles. Very worth the money and a great way to try a few things at once.
